Selecting colour

No matter how effective you may be in using graphics software and no matter how masterly you are able to show the perspective and composition, it is hardly possible to create nice artworks without having the sense of colour and selecting the right colour tones. Compare:

Where do the colours mix harmoniously? That's correct - on the right.

I hear that the sense of colour is similar to having an ear for music - one either
has it or not. But what should do those who have no sense of colour?

There is non-intricate but very interesting software developed specifically for such cases, it is named
Colorimpact

The software allows you to select harmonious colour combinations in several schemes:.

Color harmony: Complement

Color harmony: Split-Complement

Color harmony: Triad

 Color harmony: Square

Color harmony: Rectangle

Color harmony: Analogous

Color harmony: Analogous and Complement

Color harmony: Hexad

Here are some examples of pre-made colour schemes selected by the software:.

And here is a collage, for which I selected colours using Colorimpact:.

The second option is to visit the website with ready-made colour schemes for Photoshop:

There you can choose from thousands of colour schemes uploaded by users, sort them by popularity, by time of posting and save them for later use. You also can create and edit schemes directly on the website in HSV, RGB, CMYK and LAB systems:
